Love Language

My friend has been telling me about these books forever...
I finally checked them out from the library. I haven't read the entire of either of them yet, just parts, but their interesting and kind of fun. I've learned some things...
1- My husband thinks their silly...  Actually... that wasn't really "learned", I knew he would, but he loves me, so he humored me and took the love language test anyway.
2- There are 5 main love languages, according to Dr. Chapman. They are: WORDS OF AFFIRMATION, PHYSICAL TOUCH, RECIEVING GIFTS, ACTS OF SERVICE and QUALITY TIME.
3- My children aren't as predictable as I thought.
4- For instance... Acts of Service... There are things that author Gary Chapman says are service that I'd never thought of that way. For instance driving my son to his friend's house, or allowing his friend to hang out at our house all day. ...I'd never thought of this as service to my child. But it is and it's one that makes him feel very loved.
Interesting...
I'm not saying they've changed my life... but thought provoking--yes! And I do feel more aware of what I'm doing and how I'm showing love to my kids.
And I can see it changing someone's life!
It was also interesting to see what my own love language and secondary love language was...
Any guesses?? :)
Love, it's good.
Here's a link to learn more.
