Peeing in Peace

So, today I decided I needed to pee in peace.
I hurried down the hall, away from my 2 year old and snuck into my bathroom. I barely had my pants down when the cutest little 2 year old girl on the planet flung the door open with a gigantic smile on her face.
Yep, she'd caught me.

And I thought-- okay, this works too.

The thing is she won't be 2 for long.
Sometimes I think we wish away precious and priceless moments.
Now, I'm guessing you're saying to yourself: Did she just call peeing with company a precious moment.
And yeah, I guess I did.

But really, those hard times, when our kids are little and so very demanding, they don't last long. In fact they seem to speed by faster than anything else. I think we need to make a more conscience effort to be grateful for the time we have.

Even our lack of sleep and co-peeing time.

The next time you're having one of those moments where you're about to lose your mind, pull out your hair, put your kid on eBay, remind yourself: it'll be gone before you know it.
And chances are you'll be wishing to have it back.
