Yes, it's my 15th wedding anniversary. :)
Isn't my husband adorable?
Fifteen Years. 15. Five + Ten.
Wow.
That's a long time.
Okay, so it's not 30 or the golden 50, but we're on our way. :)
Recently I went to a bridal shower for a sweet gal I knew back when she was a kid. They had us write advice to the happy couple. And I found I actually had some!!
Sometimes I think--what the heck do I know?
But I have been happily married for 15 years, we must be doing something right... right?
--And that doesn't mean we haven't had our ups and downs. Our rough patches. I guess that means we fell in love and we work at staying in love. Being married can be hard. It's not all roses and apple pie {that's gonna become a saying, mark my word}. It can be, but it also can't be all the time. And that's okay. Those hard times make us stronger, bring us closer. You just can't give up on each other or yourself.--
Okay, so none of that was my advice... that was my tangent just now. haha.
My advice to sweet Lisa was this:
Dont' sweat the little things. If you don't love the way he folds the laundry don't let it get to you. Be grateful he's doing the laundry!
Now, some would say that's wrong. That if something bothers you, you should tell him. I guess that might work for some. And if it's a big thing then yes, by all means, talk it out, work it through. But to me, complaining about a lot of little things makes one great big problem that just isn't worth it.
Okay. Off my soap box now. :)
Love your other half.
Be happy.
Happy Annversary!!!
